Maple Pecan Pie Bars are a deliciously sweet and nutty dessert that combines the rich flavors of maple syrup and buttery pecans baked on a tender, buttery crust. These bars are perfect for sharing at gatherings or enjoying as a treat any time of the year.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Filling

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and flour and mix until a crumbly dough forms. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking pan to form the crust layer.
  2. Bake the crust: Place the crust in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until it begins to turn golden around the edges. Remove from the oven once done.
  3. Prepare the filling: While the crust bakes, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, melted butter, and salt in a bowl until well combined. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  4. Assemble and bake: Pour the pecan maple filling over the partially baked crust, spreading evenly. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25 to 30 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden brown on top.
  5. Cool and slice: Remove the bars from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, slice into bars and serve.

Notes

  • Allow bars to cool completely before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
  • Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor, avoiding pancake syrup substitutes.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate up to a week.
