Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 sweet yellow onion, diced
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Sliders and Topping

  • 24 slider rolls
  • 6 ounces provolone cheese, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get ready for baking the assembled sliders.
  2. Cook Beef Mixture: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, diced onion, and diced green bell pepper. Cook while breaking apart the meat with a spatula for 8-10 minutes until the beef is thoroughly cooked. Drain excess fat from the meat mixture.
  3. Season and Mix Cheese: Stir in garlic powder, salt, ground pepper, and onion powder into the cooked beef mixture. Then add the softened cream cheese and mix until the cheese is fully incorporated and the mixture is creamy.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Cut the slider rolls horizontally into halves. Place the bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Evenly spread the beef mixture over the bottom rolls. Layer provolone cheese slices on top of the beef, then place the top halves of the rolls onto the cheese to complete each slider.
  5. Prepare Butter Topping: Combine melted butter with garlic salt in a small bowl. Cut between the individual sliders in the baking dish to make serving easier, then brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
  6. Bake Sliders: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes until the sliders are hot and the cheese is melted, and the tops are slightly golden. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Drain the cooked beef mixture well to avoid soggy sliders.
  • For extra flavor, you can add sliced mushrooms to the beef mixture when cooking.
  • If you prefer a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Use fresh slider rolls for the best texture, but you can substitute with small sandwich buns if necessary.
  • These sliders can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated before baking; just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if chilled.
